Bullying

Bullying is an unfortunate reality in many youth’s life. Here in Canada we have the 9th highest rate of bullying in the whole world. That is not something to be proud of. Bullying affects not only a youth’s social development but it also affects their learning. If you are a victim of bullying you have a higher rate of depression and substance abuse. Also, you are more likely to skip school in order to avoid the bullying. Also, if you don’t feel safe in your school you will have a harder time concentrating and therefore not be able to learn as much. Schools need to be a safe place where the mind is able to learn to it’s full capacity.

If you are being bullied there is help out there. Talk to an adult, a parent, a mentor or a teacher. Also, you can call the Kids Help Phone for help. You are not alone.
